New Alzheimers Study for 55-80 yeas old

Trailblazer-ALZ 3 is an Alzheimer’s prevention study testing an investigational drug, donanemab, for adults at risk of Alzheimer’s disease. Trailblazer-ALZ 3 is led by Eli Lilly in collaboration with Banner Alzheimer’s Institute. This study is currently enrolling people across the U.S.

This invitation does not mean you have the APOE4 risk factor. People with and without this risk factor are being invited to learn more about the study.

To be eligible for Alzheimers study you must:

Be 55 to 80 years of age
Have normal memory, thinking, mood and behavior patterns
Have a reliable study partner who is familiar with your overall day-to-day activities, memory and thinking abilities, and mood and behavior. Your study partner does not have to live in the same location or place/city as you.
Meet additional study requirements

Participants in Trailblazer-ALZ 3 are randomly assigned to one of two groups. They receive either the investigational drug (donanemab) or placebo. Those who receive placebo may have the option to receive the investigational drug at a later time.

If you qualify for Trailblazer-ALZ 3, participation can last approximately 4.5 years but will vary for each participant.

All study appointments will be done in person or as a virtual appointment, through a video call, depending on the purpose of the visit. Virtual appointments will be done on a study-provided device. Possible compensation for time and travel may be available.
