UPDATE as of 1/30/2023 . Last week while using this it started shutting down randomly after a few hours work . It would start up after resetting murphy switch and run fine for another hour or so, then do same thing despite 50 lbs. oil pressure and 180* temperature. i glued murphy switch in and she ran great for several days , i figured bad murphy switch. Now it starts instantly, good compresion, but smokes white smoke when rpm are above 1200 . No smoke until RPMs get higher than that . New fuel pump and filter did not help. Price dropped from $9k to $5k as ive bought a bigger chipper and have no time to diagnose and fix this. likely just a sensor / controller issue as engine it sound and chipper is excellent. Next is original post . This is a turn key 90 Horse power Perkins diesel powered wood chipper . I use it a few of days a week on the smaller 6-8" diameter trees im clearing until i buy a bigger machine for my needs . Knives just sharpened knives, big size chips and shoots them far with straight shute for truck loading or switch to side shute for shooting chips to the side . Has a 16" wide x 12" high drum opening with a 53" wide x 30" high feed apron . I bought it from a big tree company in Maine that upgrades its entire fleet of these chippers every 10 years regardless of hours or condition and hauled it here to my winter home to clear some pines and clean up my 8 acres . It runs as new with no issues other than cosmetic , has original paint . I need a bigger whole chipper for what i have in mind . This has plenty of power at 90 HP diesel , starts instant , no smoke or leaks , very well maintained and chips 6" and under trees great but not designed for trees bigger than 8" in diameter as i have too take out . Best for small trees 6" or less though it will do 8" or so. It flies through those and spits out a 30' to 40' 4-5" diameter whole pine trees in a couple seconds , runs smooth and strong . 2400 hours on working meter ( looks newer other than gauges so may not be actual ). Hours will go up until its sold . Original maintainance manual includes .
